The Danger Ensemble’s new theatrical work

the hamlet apocalypse

Recently returned from the sell out world tour with notorious American musician, Amanda Fucking Palmer (The Dresden Dolls). The Danger Ensemble present the world premiere of The Hamlet Apocalypse for the 2009 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

The Hamlet Apocalypse presents a group of actors rehearsing Hamlet the night before the world ends. As the reality of the situation sets in, the play, the characters and the actors break down to the simplest of human states as they attempt to reconcile their lives in the face of a dying world.

Directed  by Steven Mitchell Wright

Produced by Anniene Stockton

Performed by  Lloyd Allison-Young, Katrina Cornwell, Mark Hill, Tora Hylands, Robbie O’Brien and Peta Ward

The Danger Ensemble is a contemporary theatre and events company with a history in physical theatre and Butoh dance theatre. These children of the MTV generation are committed to the ongoing development and exploration of theatrical form. This unique training (Suzuki Method, Viewpoints and Butoh) combined with their vision, promises a unique aesthetic, unpredictability and a viscous relevance.

'...what these guys do.. It is way beyond theatre. It is a pure manifestation of wanting to change the world into love through performance' - Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls)
