...1... HAPPY YEAR OF THE OX

Dec 31, 2008 23:35

My official first post that means something begins now!

I suppose I should make at least one or two New Years Resolutions. I'm usually very bad with them but, we'll see. . .Here we go.

I will work hard to achieve no less than a B in Pre-Calc. To some of you this may sound like a joke but I am only alright at math. HOWEVER. With this promise of a B comes the promise to keep my chin up and not think negatively about it. I can do it.

I will achieve no less than a B in History. Again, joke? I think not. But I am also promising myself with this that I want to remember this. If I can remember the names of actors and all this random crap (though I'm not sure I remember everything anyway, just the random stuff as I said) I CAN remember history. At least long enough to pass, ne.

I will be more tidy around my dorm. I know it's not a mess, but I think my desk could do with some organizing and I can throw out some of the stuff up there, or at least put it in the closet. Libby has a lot of stuff on hers but it seems to have that organized look to it. For me to be organized, I honestly believe that you should see nothing but the computer, TV, and DVD player with a DVD near by.

I will not be an Asian stalker. One dinner, my friends and I were talking and I somehow happen to see every Asian walking around in the cafe. I DO NOT MEAN TO, I just happen to be the kind of person that looks around a lot and they happen to come in at the same time we're eating. I face the doors, they do not. But I will not say anything. Now that I am aware of their sexy, I can move on.

I will not bite off more than I can chew. I'm often very good at knowing my limits when it comes to what I can and cannot do. Gotta stick on it.

I will get away from these blasted computers, even if it means just laying in bed reading. On the nice days I might just take a walk. OMG, Caitlin, getting off of her ass? It's unheard of.

I will save my money. I don't have much, really, and I don't have a grand ol' income, so there's not much to save. But I am not going to use what I have excessively. Obviously we know the economy is tightish right now and there are things I want (like my iMac) so I will wait and persevere later! All of that manga and anime I want to buy, I even made a list. . .looks like it will have to wait until my birthday.

I will learn a new sewing tip or trick or skill. Whatever you want to call it, I want to learn something new. Making something new is not the same as learning. Many of the stitches we had to do in high school for our portfolio to pass our sewing class has left me, seeing as I haven't had to do it for any of the few projects I have done. Ami said I may get to make a costume or two for our upcoming shows. Perhaps I'll get to do something for those. It's a shame we don't really sew anything in the costume shop--we didn't have time for the musical. Bollocks.

I will enjoy spending my time with my father (and Carol) come May/June. I love my father, and Carol is a necessary person that I have to deal with in my life. I WILL BE CIVIL. I don't have to like her, but I don't have to give off the obvious AIR that I don't like her.

I will seek a part-time job in the summer. I do not want to do the school >> job >> job thing like so many of my friends do (sorry Nikki~). I commend everyone for that, but I am really just a lazy ass so. . .pass. But I will find a job for the months I'm out of school, or try anyway, and perhaps they'll let me work during the holiday break. This was boring as hell aside from RP and cosplay which, really, should not take up 16-18 hours of my day.

I will give and be happy not to receive.
