Let's see-- tomorrow is my last day of work for the season! Yah! Thursday is Date Day. Tosh and I are heading up to Richmond to Short Pump mall and then dinner at Carraba's that evening! I'm so excited! (Kristi- we'll have to catch up another time--not even sure if you're still in Richmond right now or home!)
Work has been absolutely insane. Lots has happened-- and a particular incident with my cadet assistant did not go well. He is fired now. Thank the Lord that my boss knows me better than him. I honestly think he could've cost me my job!
Today there is a luncheon for us. It's usually really good food and they give away a ton of free gifts. Last year I won a $25 Wal-Mart gift card. I hope they do that again this year. I made some beef stew yesterday. It was sooooo good! I love beef stew!
And I broke out my new sewing machine last night! I didn't do too awful bad. It took Tosh and I about an hour to figure out how to thread the needle and wind the bobbin but I've got it down now I think. The hardest part was trying to cut the material without making it crooked. I need to get one of those nice cutting pads that has the large plastic piece that goes down over your material and helps you line it up and then cut it straight.
We had a high of 72 yesterday. That is so ridiculous! I want SNOW! I want to feel that soft silent moment where there's nothing and the snow is just falling and covering everythign over so beautifully. Send snow soon please!
A friend that goes to church with us is moving away tomorrow. I'm sad, but not too sad. I wish I were more sad-- but I'm not for some reason. I think it's going to be best for them. Remember awhile back when we had to take in some people for about a week at our house? They just don't know how to manage money very well and I hope they figure that out when they move back home. It's essential to manage your money in order to make it in this world. Tosh and I decided not to send out Christmas Cards this year and figured we'd do that next year and now we've gotten so many Christmas cards I wish we'd have sent some out! Oh well.
