Today was a good day.
The highlights:
Work was boring as hell, but I discovered some new music during those torturous hours of government database bullshit. Met up with my dad to sign some papers and ended up have a surprisingly good conversation with him... for two and a half hours. It was really nice to hear him give me encouragement - with no parental reservations -about moving away and moving on. Its also really nice to finally have a decent relationship with him.
Did some quick cardio at the gym, followed by an impromptu dance class in the rain. I haven't felt quite that alive or giddy in a long time: loud hip-hop bumping from the car, twirling, leaping, stomping in puddles. Went to my moms house and talked with her for a few hours while I warmed up. Came home and took a gloriously long, hot shower.
Yup - figuring out what I'll miss about Reno and then doing as much of it as possible is the right path for these next few months. If everyday were filled with passionate conversations, time with good friends and family, dancing in the rain, and of course, long hot showers, then I will have made the most of what I have here.
