CEEMCPm - what's behind yet another acronym
CEEMCPm stands for Central & Eastern Europe Member Committee Presidents Meeting.
We have theses meetings twice per year for presidents of AIESEC in European countries to discuss regional development, share good case practices, agree on common strategies. It's kinda reality check in the middle of the term and space for sharing and cooperation within the region. And many people who don't have any relation with AIESEC would say "aha, one more acronym, one more meeting, one more bla-bla-bla". Let them say.
I don't want to talk about business right now, it's another conversation. But I am sitting next to the pool of 5star hotel in Antalya, enjoying the weather and surrounding, it's extremely sunny but not hot outside; it's off-season now and that's why also there are not many people around. Well, "not many" means not counting 600 Turkish delegates of ATEMCO 2011, national conference run by AIESEC Turkey parallely with CEEMCPm.
This is one of the amazing things which I don't recognize that often, how would I get in such kind of hotel with "all inclusive" access and not to pay for it? How would I get to Antalya for business purpose while being that young but to be treated with higher status than "just one more Russian tourist" and again not to pay for it? It's just one of the things which you don't recognize while making eNewsletter or while spending several hours of fighting with myaiesec.net in order to get CEE statistics out of it... this is definitely not the thing which you was thinking about when I applied for this role, because staying in a 5star hotel is not the thing which I care about.
but when you suddenly realize where you are and how much unusual the story behind, it feels so cool to be CEE coordinator :)
