The story of Bluebeard exists in several variations, but usually goes like this: a poor girl gets married off to an ugly (though rich) brute who tells her he can go anywhere in his house/mansion/castle but this one room, and that she must keep this key/egg with her at all times. Interestingly, when I read the original French version, the stated moral was not to be curious...which bothered me so much that I'm currently writing a story that's my own take on Bluebeard.

Yeah, I've seen that version, with the overt moral. I think it's an interesting story, and ripe for revisiting. I hope I can see what you come up with.
