Flawrence of Arabia

I've now seen Lawrence of Arabia as it was meant to be seen: in 70mm, on a HUGE screen, and with my glasses. It's both more beautiful and more flawed than ever. I like the movie, but it really changes a lot of the psychological elements of the book, so I always feel a little miffed whenever I see it.

Oh, I know! And that one's not just miscasting, but offensive as well! (I don't think the Arabs in LoA are portrayed offensively; just laziness on the part of the casting folks who were probably really proud of finding Omar Sharif and went home after that.)

Yeah. I've never been a big fan; I don't know how much of that is that particular aspect, but I don't ever go back and watch it.
