That blasted Jen may have something! On Saturday she took me out with the Alex for apple picking at the nearest apple picking place. We took the wee hay ride up there, I almost lost my phone, and we took a few pictures of apple loving. It was so nice to be around Alex cuz his humor and his buffer between evil Jen and evil Ro is refreshing. We descended the big apple hill (which is also the name of the place, aplty so) picking apples, and dropping them in my tank purse when someone named Alex couldn't fit any more Granny Smiths in his plastic bag. At the bottom of the hill, I fell in a gopher phole and pilled my apples everywhere. It was most charming. More charming as it was Alex who gave a warning and I was going down hard. Luckily, he fears bees moreso than I! (I riled up the bees that were eating spoiled squashed fruit).
Also bought a pumpkin. <3
Afterwards, after finding out Dylan won't be joining us cuz his friend coming up to visit is late, we go to the New Paltz Gaming Club Gaming Convention (3rd Annual). I really didn't want to, but somewhere I had made a promise to a Torres girl, and her sexy father dictated I follow thru on that promise.
So I paid my $2 student fee with my old school ID and got to watch overly rambunciotus dweebs be rambunctious dweebs. Something that tickled me silly was seeing Webster acting as President of the SUNY New Paltz Host and Hostess Club. Lordy lord. He was wearing his black and blue wig, and Gundam Seed jacket. I'm not sure how classy that is, but good lord...
He was setting up "classy food" like cubes of cheese, and later on, caviar. He had bottles of various apple cider setup, and was inviting people for a "classy" game of "hold this plastic drink lute with two fingers, walk from here to the door in ten seconds without spilling a drop" and you won a slice of Boston Cream cake. I think I was the only one to really get it, but I shared my peice with Jen!
The secret, apparently, is that you have to drink it first, BEFORE walking the distance, since with less, it would be easier to move fast without spilling. I just counted off in my head 10 seconds so I knew how much longer I had to go. Sweet cake was mine (and Jens')!!!!
But yeah, I ended up walking around a bit more, going out for Pizza with MANY PEOPLE!!! and having a phone conversation with Gary. Pizza wasn't bad, got to know Dylan's friend Liz a little more, and Chris Bruno, someone who I remember from Community College, that Gary was friends and game-mate's with. He's not greasy nor does he have the creepy braces anymore! Woot!
I played a little bit more ddr when we got back to the campus for the rest of the night. I need to play more so I move around rather than self-hate a lot. I saw my twins! My twins! Sweeter and more sincere people you will not meet. And Kate Fais, whom I havent' seen since HER graduation. And the Mason brothers, but not the Mason brother, Cat.
All in all, it was kickass seeing everyone. Jen was right. Shut up Jen. The glare from your metal is blinding me. AHHHHHH.
Sunday was a little queiter and less restrained. I met up with Racheal, my 20-something friend (!) and went down to Newton, NJ to meet up with another friend of ours for a surprise Birthday Hiya. As in, calling Karolina up, asking what she's doing, getting her response, and saying," Well in that case we'll just turn around since we're already in Newton and don't want to disturb you."
Yeah, that made Karolina's day. Originally we were supposed to go down last week, but the timing crashed and burned. Her birthday was on a Saturday, we wanted to go the day after. Not a chance. Racheals birthday was this Saturday, we went the day after that. It was birthday pimping.
So while there we indulged in woman shopping, in things that makes boys grit their teeth and roll their eyes and call their friends' named Randal on the cell-a-ma-phones. Karolina got a few summer clothes, or for whatever is left of the Autumn, ad we wandered around for a bit into otehrs stores, stopping to have dinner at Friendly's!
That's right, that uber exclusive Friendly's! Ho ho, good eats there! BUt it was nice and wsweet, but the Pole wouldn't eat anything. She was feeling sick, which sucked, especially when she paid for us since "we came all the way down there." Eat something, really, stop making me jealous.
But we did a bit more plaza walking after that, going to walkmart to get ... halloween make up and shoe insoles and cat food and chapstick, and a number of other interesting things from there, which did not involve fabric. They too away the fabric depot! And just when i wanted to pick out curtain material ...
We went back to Karolina's apartment to watch Aborigonese boobs and customs, where her mom fixed us tea and kissed us all good night :3
We took lots of pictures with her dog, a little Corgi, and cried dragon tears when we have to leave (cuz Racheal had to get back to go to work the following morning). So we shove off at midnight, give our kisses buh-bye, with love, and drive back! Yay for ghost stories just before we leave AND as we're driving.
Monday I did nothing but clean out my car (shush Racheal!) and make beer battered onion rings. Note, next time more beer and more onions.
All together :
Good weekend!
