I don't write much, do I?
Well, let me go over a few things for your amusement.
I'm going to Boston!!! Whoa! Yay! They offered me the position and I am more than glad to take it. The money is nonexsistant, the experience is good, and mostly, I'm out of the house and onto a new adventure.
Adventure. I'm young right, we're supposed to do things like that. Right? I don't ever want to be like my one friends mother, whose never been out of the Tri-State region. Obviously, moving to NY from Poland already makes me different, but I have desires to move places and see different locations and live in a bunch of different places (one, of course, is Boston, and the other is Philadelphia), and maybe Hiroshima, Japan. I guess I have attractions to places that are radioactive. Nagasaki was a wonderful thing that seems like a faraway dream, and something I sometimes miss sorely. I want to go to industrial urban China too, but more for a visit. And Turkey, because my darling Vuslat lives there, and the pictures she has of home are AMAZING(I hate Turkish food though ...)
So onto Boston, I think I'd like to go out there. I've been in contact with another Americorps person working at the center and she's been pretty open about how she's been there. I'm not sure to what degree its staged, but she seems amendable enough.
Jen was insistent on throwing me a goodbye party. I didn't want that kind of pressure on my house. So we're having a group dinner at the Cheeseburger in Paradise! I've never been there before, but I have driven by it, and it is really tacky looking. Tacky, in the way that there are neon lights and palm trees in neon lights visible from the highway. The time we picked means there shouldn't be too many other people there, asides from us. I think it'd be interesting to see people who've come to know me actually take time out of their days to spend a few hours with Ro before she goes 4 hours away. /tear and need to feel needed!
