Somewhat Wildean thoughts about Beauty (perhaps copied, perhaps new)

Jul 30, 2005 22:14

Beauty is an essence.

Beauty has no true form, but makes things beautiful when it inhabits them.

Beauty is genderless, and may appear in people, things, places, moments and feelings.

Beauty is attractive to everyone and no one, since Beauty itself is not really seen.

Some people react strongly to things truly Beautiful, while others become confused and are merely fooled by something pretending to be Beautiful. (This is why modern art actually sells.)

Never trust a person who pretends to see what is Beautiful and what is not; a person who actually sees what is Beautiful keeps quiet and just enjoys it.

Beauty makes people egoistical.
