During my internet searching I found something interesting last night. (Don't I always?) First of all, I've been trying to think of something I could craft and sell at a flea market or farmer's market. So last night I was reading about natural dyes made from vegetables. Then I came across a post on craftster.org about buying cheap packs of babies' onesies at Wal-Mart and dyeing them. And it clicked in my head what I should do.
Tonight I made two "carrot" onesies. They turned out a really nice peachy orange color. I used white vinegar to make them color-fast. And I can tell people that they're dyed with 100% organic carrot dye. (The organic carrots at Kroger are cheap.)
This is a Before and After picture:
They were really cheap to make. Tomorrow I'm going to try green tea. I'm also in the process of making cute tags for them.
Well just wanted to share. :)
