you could put up all kinds of traps and counters to track your readers, but sometimes it's better not to concentrate on that.
it's indeed very difficult to find a newly created LJ, especially if there's no hint (location, interest, e-mail...). But as soon as you are adding friends, expecially friends you already had before, you are very easy to be found:
by performing this query and studying the results [if you are a free (non-paid) LJ user: that's how the result looks]
even better: by using this script: e.g.: enter the names of two of your friends into the form, e.g. 'tank_boy' and 'emli'. try it with another pair of your friends, e.g. 'tank_boy' and 'hues'... seeing the result, the name of the new LJ is easy to guess.
then, checking the resulting name using this script will further confirm the suspicion.
you could create a custom friends group and include just those friends whose identity is sure. but there is no absolute security as long as you add friends. There are always people (even friends) who for some particular reason will forward friends-only posts to other people who shouldn't read them.
thanks or all the info and links. he still had to work hard to see if i had and find my new journal. i feel like trashing the disguise and giving in. i just don't want anymore nasty messages from him.
