Well, that's yet another holiday season down without any casualties. All in all, we had a quiet and fairly relaxing time of things. We managed to see a good number of friends (but still managed to miss Janice!!!) and have some fun.
I polished off the short but amazing "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman. A great read and amazingly creepy for a book that was written for a young audience. I'm just starting the final 3rd of David Gemmell's "Shield of Thunder", the 2nd book in his Troy trilogy. I'm a fan of Gemmell's heroic fiction, and this reimagining of the Illiad is no exception.
Yesterday, I managed to scrape a group of nerds together to play through a scenario out of the "Well of Darkness" expansion for "Descent: Journies in the Dark". Good times. As boardgames go, Descent is quite complex, but manages to reproduce the enjoyment of the dungeon-crawl quite perfectly. The expansion adds a few new rules, monsters, and dungeon tiles as well as some scenarios.
We're having a New Years party at our place again this year. Anyone want to come?
So now, it's time to finish watching the 1 hour Naruto special and finish my coffee.
