*has to keep in shape too! Ow, my back*

Kiku stood up, stretching a little and went towards the doorway, sliding it open and heading outside with his dog. "Where to, Poochi-kun?"

The dog trotted outside but sat waiting as Kiku joined him outside, then kept his tiny feet moving quickly as he walked next to him. He barked before jumping forward a little, leading them where to go. He'd follow the smell of the flowers and they could go there.

He occasionally stopped to poke at something, sniff something, examine a black and white something in his vision. Occasionally he'd walk in a circle around his nation, making sure he was okay and making sure he was keeping up.

Kiku found it so cute, how his little dog tried to protect him. Hell, they could be going up against a bear and Poochi-kun would be the first one into the fray. He loved the little puppy so much...
He followed along with the dog, stopping when Poochi-kun did and watching him smell the plants or look around for little animals or bugs he might have heard. It was so cute. He would smile softly, when Poochi-kun would circle him, or come closer to make sure he was keeping up.

He had been like this since his older brother had given him the little dog, as a present, but it had gotten more vigorous after the bombings. He supposed Poochi-kun had been so scared when it happened, to suddenly see his master bleeding and curling on the floor. The dog hadn't heard him scream before that...

With a sigh, he rubbed his side through his haori and continue on.

Soon they reached the origin of the scent the dog had found, some newly budding flowers which he happily smelt. He barked at the black and white things which he was sure were very pretty if he could see all of the colors. A butterfly made itself comfortable on his little nose and, staring at it, he walked cautiously to Kiku again, to show it to him. He barked a little and it didn't move, but he was too captivated by it to mind.

Eventually it tickled his nose just so and he did a little doggie sneeze, shaking his head. The bright grey butterfly--blue in color-seeing eyes-- flew up but didn't go far. He watched it, seeming quite happy with the buzzing of lively bugs around them and field mice in the flowers and the flowers themselves.

He smiled, pressing his sleeved hand to his mouth and muffling a little laugh as the butterfly sat on his fluffball of a dog. It probably dind't even realize it was sitting on a dog-- Oh, there it went. He knelt down comfortably next to his dog, not minding the slightly damp grass beneath him. It would dry in time.
"Ichi home, Poochi-kun," he offered kindly, "I wonder is someone's taking about you, somewhere," Kiku teased lightly, and scratched the dog's ear. It was very nice here.

He whimpered a bit curiously, wondering if Hana-Tamago was talking about him or maybe Berlitz or Aster or Blackie, the dogs he met at Doitsu's house. He wagged his tail at the thought and hoped not to sneeze again.

He pet him, but didn't keep him next to him if he wanted to run around. His little dog had incredible energy for being just about as old as him. He had always been grateful for that, though. He wouldn't know what he'd do if he lost Poochi-kun.
"It's a beautiful day," he said softly, looking up at the pretty butterflies. He leaned forward a bit, touching one of the little buds. "These are blue," he told the dog. "Like the ocean. They're so pretty."

He sat peacefully with him, listening when he explained the color. 'Bu-ruu' like the 'oo-sha-n?' Ah, yes, that was the same shade of grey. He barked in understanding, sniffing the flower. Is that what blue smelt like? It was a different blue then Doitsu's eyes. There must be different shades, then.

He gave a smile and pet where he knew his ears were beneath the fur. "They smell very pretty, too." He picked off one of the tiny buds and smelled it gently, before sneezing as well and the fragile petals scattered. He laughed a bit. "They made some people sneeze though, apparently."

He panted and yipped a little in response to the slightly startling sound of his master sneezing. Hopefully whatever was being said about him was good! He too went about smelling the pretty flowers, trying not to sneeze. Occasionally he ran into a friendly little bee or another butterfly. He'd watch them until something else caught his attention. He lightly prodded a dying flower with his nose and whimpered. This one didn't look happy....

He watched him smiling, for a while, then realized the puppy had stopped and heard the little whimper.
"What's the matter, Poochi-kun?" He asked softly, moving closer and looking at the little bud. "Oh... This one didn't make it."

He pawed it, willing it to stand up, but eventually the bud at the top broke. He jumped back a little and whimpered again. He did a bad thing....

He pet the dog gently, hushing him. "It's gone, Poochi-kun," he told him, picking up the little, withered bud and looked at it. "It's okay. It was too weak, and fragile. It couldn't survive."

Without realizing it, the statement hit close. He bit his lip and sighed, touching the dry petals and his eyes lowered a little.

"It lost."
