wow I am like completely overwhelmed now...first off My mind is completely on vacation as the day I am leaving is quickly approaching(august 9th) and then today I got all these responses to one email I sent! omg...well I should say why I got all these responses.
Well okay, on the 16th I sent an email to my host family, I sent them a portion of it in german and then an english translation of it, incase my german was so poor that they would understand my english better. Well after four days I lost patience and I emailed my Exchange Counselor, Flavia(how sweet of a name is that!?), and she emailed me back right away. And also I was browsing Facebook and I found this guy who's going to Vienna through Rotary and I found this Girl (who is currently in Canada on exchange) who Lives in Wels and goes to the school I am going to, so I've been asking her things about the school, and asking the guy about what his rotary experience is. Well, Flavia told me to wait until the 26th and then I could remind them that, in her words, I'm still existing.
Then I asked her about placing me in level 11 or 12 in school instead of 10 because the Girl that lives in Wels said that most exchange students go into level 11, if not level 12, and I also mentioned that I have taken 3 years of german, so I know some german. Flavia told me that most exchange students don't know German when they go to Austria so I'll be at an advantage. Then she asked a girl from Colorado who is currently staying in Austria to contact me, and she also asked one of her son's best friends to contact me(although with my luck this guy isn't cute). Well the Guy, Maxi has already sent me an email. but I found if funny that Flavia responded to me about maxi as follows:
"Maxi, Georg's friend called immediately back when I sent him the mail, he is staying in Vienna. As soon as possible he will contact you by e-mail. During summertime you will be probably invited at his parents home in Steinerkirchen, it's wonderful there, huge swimming pool...and secretly told: gorgious wine cellar....
If you like you could practice German with Maxi till you are coming, or at least he could do your homeworks in German...."
lmao, should I tell the story about my wine experience in California?...nahh I don't want to give into the stereotype that American's are irresponsible drinkers...not to mention, I learned my lesson on over-drinking. Truth. (although I'll quickly forget it on my 18th birthday when I can legally drink spirits overthere *cough*absinth*cough*)
oh and before I forget, While my host family has not yet responded to the email I sent them, My mom emailed them and My host mom responded...?? wtf?...I'm saddened! but my mom forwarded the email, and there was a link to a site that has pictures of my family:
http://pirklbauer.at/familie/ Lydia is going to Canada when I'm there, but I have two sisters...which could be good, but it's not as good as two brothers. but it seems out of date (as you could tell by the date of Ester's birthday picture) but I found out more from the pictures than what they've told me...that's quite sad =(
before i leave...Chocolate Chex = best cereal ever. It's also a metaphor for life, black and white chex living together in harmony...and tasting delicious...MMMMhmmm!
