"The sidewalk's craked and dirty face is looking up from underneath my feet/It's staring at the hollow broken boy who's lost and wandering these same old streets...Sometimes you have to see the beauty in all of this loneliness/The streetlights flicker then they fade, like every good intention that I've had and every face that passes through my mind I'll be struggling with these same old dreams until the concrete turns to sand and I'm swept up by the waves/There's only so many chances that you get to do something that's this important/ NOW I'D RATHER SINK THAN SWIM/ Sewer grates keep spitting up their steam exhaling all the broken dreams I've flushed away/ I wonder when I'll bow out/ WASH ME AWAY LIKE I WAS MADE OF SAND and it's wonderful, it's wonderful..."
...Except that it's not wonderful. This has officially been the WORST spring break EVER. And y'all can quote me on that. First of all, to start out this eventful "vacation" (if you can call it that), I found out that my grandpa has only 4-6 weeks to live and my parents left town to pick him and my grandma up from arizona. So I was left to tend the house, which was cool for about a day and a half. The next night I came home to put the dog out and had to call the police because the shop light was on when Erin and I got there but off in the middle of our time there. (You can read about that story in Erin's lj). THEN, the next morning I went home with Erin to take care of the dog and such and got a message from my aunt Diane that my aunt Ruth Ann had died that morning. The day after Easter. So that sucked. Then on Tuesday, I found out that Aaron's mom had forgotten to bring her birth certificate up with her so we had to drive down to Portland to get it. I was elected to drive because the speed limit is 70 and she never drives over 60. Unfortunately, I got a speeding ticket for going 80. No more of that for me. I don't want to pay another $91. Unfortunately again, my parents FOUND the ticket but didn't tell me until today. When I also found out that I'm grounded for 2 weeks because of it, wherein I cannot use my car and if I need to go somewhere (including school and work) I need to have someone else drive me. I HATE IT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm very frustrated, as I'm sure you can tell. Not to mention that the lady that ran the bed and breakfast that we went to treated aaron and i very rudely with next to no respect. GAA. I hate everything.
