Наверняка всем местным автолюбителям стало известно о возникновении огромного количества ям и дырок на дорогах Монреаля и не только. Связано это с недавними изменениями в погоде - перепады температур, резкое таяние и замерзание воды на дорогах и т.п. Я не стану распространяться по этому поводу - и без меня уже слышны сотни ругательств практически из всех окон машин, что передвигаются по трассам провинции. Хочу просто привести пару советов, дабы избежать урона для своего любимого "Лексуса".
Некий Седрик Ессимини, представляющий CAA-Quebec рекомендует:
CAA-Quebec's Cedric Essiminy has some practical advice for Montreal drivers in the minefield of depressions that have sprouted:
1) Slow down
2) If you cannot avoid the pothole, take your foot off the gas but don't brake.
"The faster you are driving, the more damage you will do to your car," Essiminy said.
"Trying to go around the potholes at the last minute is tricky because you often don't have time to check all your blind spots."
Hitting the brakes will put the weight of the car on the front and added tension on the suspension. The impact of a direct hit with a pothole will compound that stress and damage to the suspension, he said.
"We've had an increase calls for roadside assistance, particularly on Sunday," Essiminy said of the services CAA offers members.
