Instead of skulking and devising random, complicated plots to dethrone Arthur, Morgana and Agravaine decide to hurry things along and simply kill the King. Instead of putting a spell on Merlin they put a spell on Arthur to make him go mad and kill himself so neither of them can be blamed. Merlin of course notices Arthur's strange behavior and saves him, like he always does.

Arthur doesn't like his job and when he marries Merlin he decides to quit and be the housewife of the house: except he's really not good at it and he gets easily frustrated.
[M/A] Dreaming Of Dragoon
Arthur would never tell anyone, but he has dreams about growing old with Merlin. That's why when he meets Dragoon for the first time, he knows who he really is.
