life is uncertain; eat dessert first
and that's just what we did tonight. mom blames me (i called offering to pick her up something from Ron's Ice Cream on the way home, but got the machine). i blame her (i offered because last night she asked me how late they were open, and they were about to close by then).
while waiting for bob to get home from work with the goods, we made some stew for dinner. looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow lol.
lorraine had yesterday and today off. *cries* i'm not looking forward to tomorrow lol. it's funny, everyone thinks it's supposed to be better with the boss gone, but she and i have a grand time most days when it's just she and i. sure, she's still annoying, but lorraine is moreso lol.
on my way to work this morning, i watched some woman create a scene for all the neighborhood to hear. when i got to the corner, her daughter was walking to school with some friends and the woman was screaming at her, threatening to beat her, etc. near as i can figure from what i heard, the girl had been waiting outside for a ride to school, went back into the house to get her coat, and her ride left without her. now, first of all, it was 40 degrees out this morning. why didn't her mother make sure she had her coat before she went outside? second, what kind of reliable friend does the mother have if the ride can't wait a few seconds for the kid to come back out? Lisa K stopped to pick me up and i took the ride just so i didn't have to listen to the woman anymore. i felt awful for the kid, absolutely sick, but you know that if i'd said something, that kid woulda gotten beat worse for it :( some people shouldn't spawn.
