Hmm, I never posted here about grad school. I was accepted at Cornell 2 days before my PSU interview, so I immediately accepted that and cancelled the PSU one and proceeded to go get drunk for St. Patrick's Day in celebration... I went from euphoric to suddenly depression after a couple days for a few weeks, not really sure why that happened... And now I've moved onto excitement, apparently. I was in Ithaca the weekend before last to look at apartments and hang out with some people. I settled on one eventually, and I think I really like it. I'm generally looking forward to living in Ithaca as well. The panic and unhappiness caused by the thought of 5 years and moving from Frederick seems to have subsided for the time being. I almost wish it wasn't 4 months away, but I'm attempting to not live in the future like that. I'm sure these feelings will come back once I graduate and have that sudden life change to deal with, but umm maybe not?
I have a room in an apartment downtown in Frederick from May 1 (although I can stay in the dorm until the 15th) until August 14, at which point I shall start moving into my apartment in Ithaca, considering the lease starts August 1... Orientation or whatever for Cornell isn't until the 23rd, but I need time to settle in and stuff. I am SO EXCITED to be able to live with my cat again. It made it a pain to find apartments, but I think he'll like the one I found haha. The only thing I'm worried about is how much things will cost, but my parents and I went to ridiculous measures to come up with a budget that fits my current lifestyle expenditures and the ones I will have there, and I should have enough money (although I won't be adding anything to savings...). Also for the summer, my fellowship at the National Cancer Instiute in Frederick has been solidified pretty much. Apparently I get a fancy NIH email ouu ahh. No clue how much I'll be making, but I was allowed to set my own start and end date, so I'm going from May 17-August 13. HOPEFULLY I'll be making a good amount of money so I can save some of that. Hrm. Should be fun, regardless.
On an entirely differently topic, I figured out how to disable my automatic twitter importing. Last time I tried to do it, it wouldn't let me. Annoying.
