New Orleans

I had a super good time in New Orleans. I was able to see many of my old friends and I hung out with my San Francisco friends, Erin and Nick. Also, I met long-time online friend, Lotje, who I've known since probably around 2001 or 2 I'd guess.

I went on a swamp tour again; which is highly recommended. Saw lots of gators, wild rice, arrowroot, birds, snakes, swamp camps, et cetera. I drank too much and spent too much in the Quarter, of course. I went to several gay bars with my old friend Jorge and I was surprised by how the gay men in New Orleans are much less outwardly gay as those in San Francisco. They seemed to be much more flannel-ly/bearded men than assimilated pretty boys. (Am I being offensive here? I dunno.) I went to Whole Foods several times and saw most all of my old coworkers that are still working there. I saw my "baby mama" Lillicia and had a blast even though we only spent a few minutes together. Ms Adrienne was leaving work and gave me a ride to Meagan's house. It was really funny because the last time she gave me a ride she picked me up next to a huge housing project in a serious hood after my bicycle got a flat tire.

Since I spent so much of the time with Erin and Nick I also did a few touristy things that I had never done before. I took a steamboat ride down the Mississippi and I went to Preservation Hall and saw some amazing jazz. I also went to lunch at the new vegetarian restaurant (only veg. rest. in town) and I thoroughly enjoyed that meal (homemade veggie chicken nuggets=amazing!)

Anyway, I could ramble off lots of other random stories.
