Real World: San Francisco

Since I've caught up watching Survivor and South Park, I've turned to watching a couple episodes of the Real World: San Franisco, which were all recently put up on MTV's website free of charge. I haven't watched any old episodes of the Real World since probably the late 90's so it's a complete trip to be reminded of what the TV show was like then. It's also considered, I believe, the first reality TV show and it's funny to see how much more realistic it was then compared to today's shows which are much more Hollywoodized.

First of all, the house is actually a house. Not a massive warehouse with a swimming pool and gym and all sorts of luxories. There is a normal kitchen size kitchen--the camera shots are interesting because the camerapeople can't get very creative with the small spaces. The cameras are right up in the peoples' faces. And the people in the show are so much more diverse. They're not all beautiful and buff... they seem to be real people withreal ambitions and real jobs. And the clothes are really bad. White jeans galore--haha. Anyway, it's entertaining.
