Well I am flattered that you want to get to know me better and I am all for that going both ways. But here are a few things from my perspective.
Part of the reason I lived in a suite again is because I felt that basically, it would force me to interact with a bunch of people. Me, Bingham and Patrick are all going to be in the same place at the same time inevitably, so we are going to end up doing stuff. And Kenneth and Alex I have become better friends with because they are right there all the time. Also, I haven’t seen much of Dan at all. It may seem like it, but the fact is, if I were not doing the Garick show he is directing, and if he were not in FLASH then I would not see much of him at all. I tried to get a hold of him for a couple of weeks to watch a movie I was interested in him seeing (especially since he missed Shao-lin soccer), well, he was always to busy with Garick or Heidi or a combination of both... so I ended up watching the movie with... Bingham and Patrick and one of Bingham's friends, which I have no complaints about, but once again, conveniently located in the suite.
Now you may be saying... "why didn't you invite me to see the movie with you" and that is a fair point that I can't really argue. But the real point I'm trying to make here is that the amount of leisure time I have spent with anybody outside the suite is a mere shadow of what it was in years past. And you were welcome to come to Comedysportz and the all-campus, but you know, cross-country.
We all have so many obligations that it makes it almost impossible to align the free time we do have, especially without planning far in advance. I wish I spent more leisure time with all you guys, but for the most part, I have to settle for parties, convenient suite time, and the time I spend in any mutual organizations.
You used to be just a door down. I would IM you and instead of responding you would just open my door. In turn, I would steal your food and soap on a daily basis. Now you are on middle and look how hard it has become already. Imagine when we are all living far far away from one another, in other states, countries?
But remember, it is always a two way street. We can both sit and look at the phone and ask "Why is that bastard not calling me?" Both our answers would probably be something like. "Well that guy is a bitch to get a hold of, and besides, I'm too busy". I’ve called you’re room a lot just because I need to talk to Dan. Do you think were making friendly chit-chat? There are very very few times I have called that room when it hasn’t been about business. The other times I may have been trying to set something up that ineviably failed. As we get older we have to work harder to spend time together. That's life for ya.
