Weekend stuff
This past weekend was exceptionally good, so I had to share...
Friday evening wasn't anything special, really.
Saturday turned out to be quite a hot day. I had plans to drag out my camping equipment, take stock, repair/retool/whatever. Well, that didn't happen. Instead, I just worked around the house until some friends showed up for the hockey game. I grilled out, drank lots of beer, and everyone had a great time. We were up quite late, and even Drew stuck it out (and as a result slept in late the next morning).
The result of the hockey game was teh suck, but at least it was an exciting game.
Sunday was another hot one, but after sleeping in (which never happens if you have a pre-schooler), getting a big breakfast from Waffle House, and generally just taking life easy, Drew and I went out and drug out my camping gear.
All of the camping gear is in relatively good shape. My canteen is dead, and needs to be replaced, and I need to stock up on citronella candles. My tent was still rather damp from Transformus last year (where it poured down rain most of the weekend), but after getting it dried out, put up, aired out, and cleaned, it is ready for the summer. We actually got a little rain yesterday evening, and no leaks!
Speaking of the summer, here's what's on tap...
Transformus on July 20 - 22 in the mountains of North Carolina.
Pennsic August 4th - 11th. Pennsic actually lasts longer than that, but when I go, I only go for the 2nd week.
I also hope to fit in a lot of movies at the drive-in this summer. That's something I didn't get to do at all last year.
Speaking of summer trips, Elvis, are you and Kat going to Transformus? If anyone out there wants to go to Pennsic, online pre-registration ends June 15th. I haven't pre-registered myself yet, but as soon as I get a check in the mail that I'm waiting for, it shall be done.
I think that's it. Just wanted to check in and post *something* in my sad, neglected journal.
