So I've always thought you know early morning joggers were some kind of cult. Nice weird eccentric hippie flower like cult not weird kool aid drinking Nike wearing cult but a cult just the same. You know they'd bought into some kind of a line about "endorphins" and inner peace and and and. I've tried all sorts of different work outs at different types of day and it's made my body feel good but I've never had that "high" really. So I'd begun to believe either these people had bought into some kind of a line or perhaps running shoes and/or treadmills are laced with some kind of "special" substance.
Then I started this 6 AM water aerobics class. I did it for convenience. The 8 PM class was getting to be too hit or miss with way too many misses to be effective. Things like school concerts, dance classes, Democratic events, and church events kept getting in the way. But for some reason 6 AM is not a popular time to hold events plus bonus, Bruce is home to watch the boys. The class gets done at 7 and he doesn't have to leave for work until 7:20 so it works well!
Anyway, having been attending the water aerobics class (mostly) for a little while I didn't expect this class to be dramatically different or to feel all that different (except perhaps a bit groggier and a bit sleep deprived). However, that was not the case. Not only are these instructors more hard core (think boot camp in the water), but something about getting moving that early on combined with the fact that I'm going by myself (before I was going with a friend of mine) so that this is truly MY time really is making it different. I hate to say this because I feel like a Nike commercial but I DO feel different. I'm actually excited to go in the morning. The people in the morning classes are nicer.
It's weird. I think I finally get it. Except for the running part. That I don't get. Unless you are being chased by zombies. There I would be useless...unless we're being chased in the water....ESPECIALLY if it's around obstacles in the water cause dude, I've got water moves you haven't seen!
