Day 7!!!!

Aug 20, 2010 20:54

Having really explored Yellowstone we decided to see what we could see around West Yellowstone. We took pictures at one of the Continental Divide spots, we checked out historical markers, we went to the Yellowstone Museum, we played at the park, we had lunch at a cute place downtown, then we headed back to the resort where we were staying. There was a lake a couple of miles down the road which we went to and hiked around. It was fun and there was this great blue heron who had been seemingly following us whenever we were at the lodge. Always there when we got in and when we left, and this time was down by the pond where we got a picture! Then we started to head back but Connor wanted to hang out so he and I sauntered around a little stream that was ont he property before heading back. It was almost dinner time, and this was the last night we were going to have family reunion stuff before heading out. The kids had a blast because they had a little craft for them to do where they colored wooden snakes, and then Grandpa Walton put on a Santa hat and gave each grandchild a little gift bag that had some adorable small toys in it. Then we all put out the books we'd brought for the book exchange (even the kids) and did the exchange. There was a little boy there named Andrew that Ian had become good friends with and just coincidentally they each picked each other's books! We also presented a gift to Wendel and Elaine. Then we all said our goodbyes (because our little family was leaving at 6 AM the next morning). And headed out. It was fun!
