Family Palooza Day 4

Aug 20, 2010 18:54

Day 4 dawned with shower, a glorious wonderful shower! Turns out they are pay showers so they didn't care if you stayed in the campground or not as long as you paid. It was so wonderful! Then it was off for some animal spotting. We headed up to the Oxbow turnout and found beavers frollicking nearby. The boys thought it was wonderful. Then it was up to Yellowstone where we hit an awful storm! We pulled over next to a geyser to wait it out and the boys were thrilled. We did an inbetween showers tours of several geysers and paint pots. The boys thought it was a blast. Plus, the bad weather kept the crowds at bay. We learned later that we didn't even realize we were kind of following Bruce's brother Marc around the park. We were only minutes behind him at each of the spots. Kinda funny. Because of the weather and the road construction we were running to late for me to make dinner so the boys were thrilled that they got to eat pizza. After that we tried to go to a ranger program, but Ian had a melt down. So we went animal spotting instead. We saw another bear, a bald eagle, a moose, elk, and had a coyote run right in front of our car! Then it was late so we headed home and the boys went right to sleep.

This was one of 5 little guys hanging out

Pretty morning

Oh what a beautiful morning...

...which degenerated into a very rainy day!

But we still had fun

And it was still beautiful
