Farscape Water and other Such Stuff

Jul 30, 2010 14:41

So Ian has been calling Dasani "Farscape water" I couldn't figure out what he meant. So today I asked him when he pointed it out again. And he said "the S mom". Then I understood, you see, the font on the s in Dasani is very close to or the same font as the s in the Farscape title. So funny, and odd that he would notice something like that!

We're getting excited for our trip. I'm particularly excited to see tigrrgrr when we stop in Boise on our way back. The boys are so excited to see cousins too.

Ian's surgery is scheduled for September 7. His presurgery class is the Monday after we get back from our trip. It's so great that Primary Children's does this. They have a free class where the kids go in and learn about what's going to happen, see the operating room, etc.

School is coming up fast for Connor. I'm excited for him and I know he will love it. It also makes summer all the more precious. I didn't think I'd be sad about him going to school and mostly I'm not but there is a tiny part of me that is sad that from now on I HAVE to share him. Preschool even though he always went was still voluntary..and I know it's silly but a part of me is just sad that I HAVE to share him now. I know silly.

Ian is becoming such a cute little guy. He has such strong emotions raging through him right now. Sometimes it makes it tough. But underneath that is a huge little spirit who loves music and loves to dance and play and tells me all the time that he loves me. He always says too "I make you happy huh mommy" Yes, Ian you do make me very happy. I'm really looking forward to having some serious one on one time with him.

Both boys have been great about reading or being read to. They both adore books. They have completed their summer reading challenge from the library and next week we're going to turn in the cards so they can get their free book. Very proud of them. Connor is plugging along on the Sam books and is comprehending very well (they come with questions so I can check that). It's been great to see the growth there!

His fine motor skills are horrendous though. And I can't seem to find a way to help him. He can't write. He can't really draw. He does type VERY well though. And unlike his father he actually remembers how to spell things once he's learned them. So that will be helpful. But poor guy is going to struggle through grade school with the writing/penmenship. I'm trying really hard but ..it's just not improving.
