I've been waiting to post until I could get the pictures to transfer..no use waiting I need to get a new adapter. So anyway, we've been to DG A LOT this week (as in Mon, Tues, Thurs, and yesterday (Sat)). I finished reading Making Money and it was pretty good. It was a pretty typical Pratchett book, which puts it a notch above most, but not his best effort even in this short part of the series (Going Postal was much better). The ending annoyed me as telling me too much about crap I didn't need to know and obscuring things I would have wanted to know. It also did a neat little set up for the next one in the series which is sad because part of the fun of this one was seeing how exactly he was going to be used and how he ended up there. Now I'm 2/3 into a book called The Expected One. It's interesting fiction that ties back to the what if Jesus had kids question and draws some interesting new possibilities.
The boys are growing quickly. Ian is picking up all sorts of new words (although he still refuses to call Bruce dada or any variant but rather calls him mama while signing dad..go figure!) It's kind of amusing that he calls everyone by their right names (even Ross & Nora) but his dad is still Mama. Go figure! Connor is finally beginning to tell us more when he wants things rather than just no what he doesn't want. He's also developed a new favorite food, yogurt, specifically gogurt because he can easily feed it to himself. He is still my really good and obsessive vegetable eater especially peas he ADORES peas.
Yesterday was a lot of fun. We got up, did some things around the house, then got bagels at Einsteins. Then we went to DG and played for a bit. Then took my vacuum to be repaired, my Dyson...for some reason the power button won't stay depressed so it doesn't work unless you are constantly holding it down. So I called Dyson, they found a repair place for me and faxed over a work order and all my warranty information and I dropped it off, it was very convenient! Then we went by Gardner Village to see the witches there, the boys loved that! I also found out they sell Kinder eggs there!! Then home for lunch. After lunch the boys took a 2 hour nap! During which I was able to read & Bruce and I spent some time together and we both napped too. It was so heavenly! Then Bruce surprised me that night by picking up Macaroni Grill and I learned their kids mac & cheese is great! Connor and I ended up sharing because he loved my Alfredo and I loved his mac & cheese.
This week has been particularly trying with Bruce's calling. He's had something from church every night except yesterday. Also people tend to call and make demands on me, even though I have nothing to do with it all. People apparently forget that we do NOT have a paid clergy and so if they call during the day he's at work. I can't tell you how many people this week have yelled at me because of that. Usually I get frustrated about it and I did at first, but after awhile I was just tired and sad. It makes it hard to go to church today. I will of course, but part of me is so worn and church isn't exactly a rebuilding time for me. It's more like a kid juggling act for the first hour while people (there is at least one person every week) tell me how horrible a parent I am and aren't I ashamed of myself for not keeping better control of my kids. (They actually are doing a lot better, but they are active boys and I'm BY MYSELF!) And then lately one or both of the boys need me during nursery. In fact one week I was in and out of nursery enough that I probably should have just stayed in there. But I know it will get better as they get older. Plus in May it will be 5 years that Bruce has been bishop and I'm hoping he will be quickly released after that. So I just keep pushing forward to May :)
But on a much happier note right now the boys are watching Sprout and Ian is cuddling on my lap it's great! Oh and I found an old favorite cartoonmovie from my childhood on Youtube. It's called the Kingdom Chums. There were only 2 of the movies ever made, the first one Little David's Adventure was the best and it was only shown once on ABC and has been IMPOSSIBLE to find. Awhile back, after years of searching, I found someone who had a videotape of it and they cut me a copy but it didn't work well. But now that same person has uploaded it to Youtube so yesterday I got to share it with my boys which made me very happy :) I just wish I knew a way to copy videos off of Youtube. Bruce is going to look into it for me.
Also Connor is grasping the idea of full names and now likes to be called Connor James Walton ;) Once in awhile he refers to Ian as Ian Scott Walton too and it makes me giggle. Now I just need to get him memorizing his phone number and we'll be well on our way :) Oh and even more exciting, Ian started showing an interest in the potty and so Connor has FINALLY returned to being interested. We may actually get him trained yet. Who knows who will train first? Man if I could get them both trained and stop washing diapers all the time I'd be so happy. And then I could give away my stash and could make more people happy. So fingers crossed :)
Anyway hope everyone is having a great weekend..I am!!! :)
