Ever since I ran out of my Eskinol astringent with clindamycin, I've been breaking out sooo bad especially on my forehead, cheeks, and chin! I've been trying out different acne products such as Clean and Clear astringents and Aveeno cleansers (They both contain Salicylic Acid). Nothing has worked so far. The Aveeno cleansing pads that I just bought yesterday made my skin worse overnight! But anywaaaay... before I went home for Thanksgiving, I ordered 5 different samples from
this website for free (I just had to pay for $6.95 for shipping). I heard good reviews on their products since the company only use natural and organic ingredients. I just received my samples in the mail today and I'm excited to see how my skin will respond to the products in a week.
If those samples don't work, I'm going to switch to another skin care regimen that I learned from my stepmom, which is to use a homemade oatmeal scrub/mask. I know it sounds weird, but oatmeal can actually absorb oil on your face, which makes sense because eating oatmeal regularly will reduce your cholesterol level! So here's how to make your own homemade oatmeal scrub/mask:
- Mix 3/4 cup of oatmeal and 1/2 cup water in a bowl.
- Cook for a couple minutes in the microwave or stove top. (just cook it how you would usually cook oatmeal)
- Let it cool until it feels lukewarm
- Add 1/4 cup honey (This will make the mask sticky enough to stick on your face)
- Mix well
Then, spread the mask on your skin for about 10-20 minutes and rinse well.
I haven't tried this yet, but my stepmom said that I should do this for 3 consecutive nights (It's best to do the mask at night) and reduce to once a week. She also told me that this is what her instructors taught her in cosmetology school. She also said that there are other ways of making oatmeal scrubs depending on your skin problem. There are also different "recipes" for oatmeal scrubs/masks online.
This acne problem has been bothering me so much for the past month or so. As soon as I get rid of one pimple, I break out even more and it gets worse. I'm turning 27 this year and acne should be the last thing I should be worrying about! *sigh* Oh well, we'll see how the bestbathstore.com products and the oatmeal mask work!
