pops night was great
everything went very quickly, but overall it was a really really fun night
im very happy with how the jazz band pulled off playing my peice.
im going to miss it
i was unhappy with nick winning 3 awards for groups that he was not in
also the fact that he has only been at south for two years and that he cannot play 1-5-2 without cracking a note
i thought that any other senior in band should have won it over nick
1 award, fine he deserves one
but i think that nobody should really be winning more than one award for a night like this
on a more exciting note
for jazz nite next week, linde said that she wanted to play my peice again
and have me conduct it
and have greg hopkins play on my peice and solo on my song
(for those of you who don't know who he is, he is the guest artist this year. he is an amazing trumpet player who has played with Dizzy Gillespie, Ella fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder)
that would be the coolest thing ever, having a well know jazz trumpet player play on one of my own original big band peices
that would mean i would be conducting a star
