Writer's Block: Investigations of a Female Nature
Favorite fictional "lady" detective... hands down, Trixie Belden. Anybody heard of her? It was a mystery series similar to Nancy Drew, but with much more realistic (i.e. FLAWED) characters, written in the late forties and they reissued the books many times, including the last five years. My mom read them when she was a kid in the fifties and started reading them to me when I was a baby. I was hooked on the series by the time I was five. Otherwise, Lara Croft is fun and while I love Angela Lansbury, her character in Mystery She Wrote is a little too old for me to identify with.
