Okay so finally some pictures! The last two gigs I took photos on my camera, but I can't figure out how to put them on the computer.
Again, super early! Helped E and T set up their merch, grabbed a beer, bought a tee and a CD. Awkward introductions to ECC people - explaining my thesis BORING!! Spoke to Sano - this was actually a relief?
LOVED Mortalized - as usual completely amazing. I got right into it. Thrall were next up - I wore earplugs (after last time) - this had a *serious* effect on my enjoyment of the set. I felt really distanced, though I tried to into it. I ended up moving back. Michi showed up but I don't think she dug Thrall, unfortunately!! I felt bad as I had invited her!
We had a beer with her mate at the bar (my shout! must've been tipsy!) - practised Japanese. These two white blokes (not related to E and T) started chatting to Michi. One was a rather rude New Zealander who made fun of my thesis (the usual what a waste of government money crap). I talked to the other guy a bit, he was a Melburnian and in a noise band (THESIS!!). Nice enough - except pretty sexist! He referred to his boss as a WHORE> I pulled him up on that. After I felt like that conversation had dried up (basically after I said I was engaged!!) I left.
