Judging by the cacophony of bird song in the air this morning, it's "eHarmony" in-the-air.
"got a date?"
"no, you available?"
"yeah, three oaks and a pine to the east."
"I'll be right over. btw, i'm looking for an LTR, no one-tree-stands, k. I'm in this to start a family?"
"me do. let's build a nest if it works out. how about a dinner and a movie first. you bring a worm and i'll bring some sunflower seeds. the sunrise is spectacular. c ya."
"ya".
On a serious note, today is an anniversary of the OKC bombing. A night visit to the memorial with YRUU family a few years ago was a moving experience. Here's something about family written by the OKC YRUU group and shared by Ann. I think it was part of their recent Youth Service.
We come here to learn about life and love,
To build community and make lifelong friends.
WE welcome diversity while growing and changing together.
We share hugs, tears, discussions, and resolutions.
We go on long van rides to rallies, sing silly songs, and hold hands.
We gather in a circle, light a chalice, and worship together,
Sharing our innermost feelings.
It is a place where we can be ourselves,
Where we can believe what we need to believe without being judged.
A place where we feel accepted, supported, and comforted,
It is our second home with old couches and tiny toilets.
Freedom
Independence
Empowerment
Truth and Meaning
within,
never without
Respect
Here,
Family is defined.
