Last weekend was another fun-filled, busy weekend full of food, drinks, laughter, and reuniting with old friends I hadn't seen in a while. On Friday, I met up with my big sis and Art, had a couple of drinks at one bar then ended up going to another bar/lounge with only one hour left before they closed. As usual, the night was full of laughter and Lady Gaga dance moves, and ended with eating at a diner. (The night is not complete without stuffing your face!)
On Saturday, catchy came over to pick up her army of pots and pans and we met up with a few friends to greet Kimbo at the airport. Kimbo has been in Taiwan the past year as part of the Fulbright program, teaching English in Yilan, Taiwan. She is not as fobby as when she came back from studying abroad in China, but she still busted out randomly in Chinese, even to those of us who do not understand Chinese whatsoever. I had seen her in May when a couple friends and I went to Taiwan and Philippines, but it was still good to see her. We had signs and a small, drum thing with Disney characters on them to welcome Kimbo home. Other people at the airport gave us dirty looks, but I think they were secretly jealous of our little drums. I bet they wanted to play with them too. We hung out at Kimbo's after eating at Soup Plantation for about an hour or so until she finally kicked us out. I guess she got tired of our, "Ni hao to the extreme" and "Hey, hey, hey" and other random phrases were saying. ;P
Afterwards, I went to my mom's house to do zookeeping duties, then we headed to another friend's house to hang out with a friend that was visiting from NorCal. I hadn't seen this friend in a year, and it was really good seeing her and catching up with her. We didn't get to talk too much since we went out to Rush Street shortly after. Rush Street was so much fun! I hadn't let loose and danced like that in a really long time! Catchy and I drew attention due to our dorky dance moves like the sprinkler, the salt and pepper shaker, and of course, the running man, but for the most part, there weren't that many weirdos coming up to us. At one point we found our group surrounded by sharks, but it only happened once. The music and company was awesome!
On Sunday, it was my turn to tag along with Catchy to celebrate her dad's birthday. We starved ourselves in preparation of going to Todai, and we still managed to fill out our loose fitting clothing after we were done. It was so good...After heading back to my place, we watched "Step Brothers" and eventually succumbed to a nap. It felt good to take that nap, especially since neither of us had slept much in the past few days. Oh, the partying days of youth. It feels great!
