I did a first aid course last week, and am now a qualified work place first aider. One thing I learned that I did not know about, and that I am passing on as much as possible in case other people do not know is about contacting the emergency services.
It will come as no surprise to people that 911 and 112 (the European standard number) both work on phones in this country. What people may not know is that if you use 112 on a mobile it will use the network with the strongest signal, overriding the network lock on the SIM. 999 does not do this, and to be honest it's probably best to get out of the habit of phoning 999 as it doesn't tend to work in other countries.
