I'm actually enjoying it more than I'd think.
My last overseas business trip was really an exercise in being sick, jet lagged, and still being expected to work. This has been a lot of fun, though.
I think that some of it is that I've decided to enjoy it as best I can (and that my company is only expecting semi-normal work hours out of me). But it's actually been kind of cool. I mean, I get to go out to nice restaurants and eat (and not pay), be driven around, and see cool foreign cities. (While observing interesting work practices.) Admittedly, it probably helps a bit that I look close enough to Germans and Poles that people don't actually point and stare when I walk down the street. (Admittedly, this can be annoying when someone starts chattering at me in a foreign language and I look totally confused until they figure out that I'm a foreigner.) But still...it's actually been pretty entertaining.
Plus, I'm stocking up on awesome treats. German beer and chocolate and Polish vodka and honey, FTW! (Maybe amber, too, if I can find any...)
