State of the Pups | Sept. 2012

Sep 10, 2012 16:58

State of the Mun: I cleaned house. In some ways to make room for other, in others to move on from pups who had grown stale, who I couldn't write consistently, or who had gone as far as they could. Surprisingly of all the pups I let go, Thor was the hardest. That's weird. This semester, too, is going to be a little busier and limit the time that I have to play. So I'm at a place where I want to make it count and make each interaction meaningful and adding to a larger picture.

Adam/Felecia (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) - im_urvenus

Felecia is drifting, very comfortable in the village. I think that comes from her being an overly flamboyant drag queen who, unless one makes the effort to dig below the surface, can dazzle with BS, or be dismissed as shallow. Thank goodness for Annatar, then, who takes the time to dig a little.; their 'relationship' just makes me smile <3 She's a blast to play and that's enough for me, right now. She's always up for tagging with anyone, but won't allow self-pity or emo-ness. She'll let someone whine for a while, then it will be time to move on.

Anna Bates (Downton Abbey) - dreamsuntrue

Anna was abducted and nearly vampir-ized and now she's on the other side of that. She's going to be strong and no-nonsense and that is a very good thing. I look forward to playing this; she was wandering for a while. She's in need of new/renewed friendships.

Charles Xavier (X-Men: First Class) - mutiegroovy

Charles turned into a surprisingly emo fellow. He's discovered his homosexuality and also discovered his desire for a real relationship; he isn't one for one-night stands and yet he kept having them for a while. Now he's in something of a relationship with Jack Harkness, but it's so fraught with ambivalence and uncertainty that there's no certain way to know how it will play out - it's alternately interesting and unsettling for mun and pup.

With Raven happily married and Erik engrossed with Anna, Charles feels left out and that's actually very fitting for Charles Xavier, I think. Isolation is somewhat necessary for someone like Professor X, I think.

Connor McManus (Boondock Saints) - veritas_mcmanus

Connor's got Murphy and that's all that matters. If all he ever does is spend time with his brother, then his life is good. It would be fun to develop a relationship with a girl for the boys, but it's not necessary. He and Murph are pups who can get pulled out every now and again.

Daryl Dixon (The Walking Dead) - zenmotherfcker

Daryl will always be awkward and always not quite fit in. That he's got canon-mates won't change that; he will never talk much except to Michonne or Sophia and even then, he'll be monosyllabic. It may get tiring for people to tag with him, but to play him any other way is untrue to the pup and to what I love about him; if he makes someone uncomfortable, that's probably about right.

David McGowan (Village of the Damned) - the_missingone

I think with Jeremy, David might have someone who pushes him to grow; he can't stay static like this, it just won't do. So, this is a very good development. His relationship with Angel isn't the most shiny either, but I kind of adore it - consistency here is key. Otherwise, he'd probably be pretty easy to retire, as connections anymore aren't great. Too bad the Elizabeth thing didn't work out. He needs to be pushed and to grow.

Doug Quaid/Carl Hauser (Total Recall [2012]) - quaidhauser

New to the village and even more confused than when he arrived, Doug is proving fun to play. his biggest issue is going to be dealing with a vampire who looks like his murderous ex-wife (who he still kind of loves, wtf) and being mistaken for a murderous vampire. Good times, good times. He's up for whatever with whoever.

Hazel Grace Lancaster (The Fault In Our Stars) - okayisalways

Hazel's new and unexpected and her voice is very quirky and requires a lot of attention. But I am SO looking forward to seeing how she plays out in the village. I'd love for her to make lots of friends and to spend every minute she can with Augustus.

Matt King (The Descendants) - backupparent

Matt will be retired in September

General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Gladiator) - strengthnhonor

Maximus has stuff going on! Big doin's, which I love playing. There is no such thing as light conversation with him; he will not suffer fools lightly. The relationship with Gorgo is wonderful and complex, and he likes young people and has taken Iphigenia and Rue under his wing. Having him make a few more friends would be nice, but it's entirely unnecessary, really. He has his farm and his woman.

Neal Caffrey - seekawhitewhale

Neal has main canon-mates, which makes mun happy. He's a tricky one to play, though and needs to be played fairly often to keep his voice. The growing relationship with Joan is really interesting. Of course, the season 4 opener has shown that Neal can move fast when he wants to. And reminds me that he's such a romantic. That's part of what I love most about him.

There's a plot idea for him that I'm excited about. He can't not be a bad boy for too long. It's in his blood.

Natasha Romanov - bloodyledger

She's far easier to write that I expected and the dynamic and all its layers with Clint makes me squee. I also love her interaction with Mattie and her growing friendship with Michonne.

Peeta Mellark (Hunger Games) - r3alornotr3al

Quiet, happy Peeta is quiet and happy. He's got Katniss and he's getting stronger. The relationships with Laura and Haymitch might not be flashy, but they're meaty and good and I love those. I would love for him to have more friends, but quiet pups have a rough time of it in the village at times. Perhaps he can do more with Rue or other canonmates - considering there are some in the village he's not even yet met.

Rory O’Shea (Rory O’Shea Was Here) - insidedancing

Rory has had exactly the kind of life I wanted to give him in the village and because of that, his days are numbered. I want, though, his exit to be about him, after, it can be about those he left behind, but in the meantime, I want it to be about him. I think he's kind of a great guy and I hope he will be missed.

Xas (The Vintner's Luck) - 3arthangel

Xas's voice is very tricky as well, but I really like him. He's entirely different from any pup I've played which is great and the direction he's headed is very interesting; the threads he's been involved in so far have been wonderful (esp. with Jeremy and then with Rue). I think he can have very interesting interactions with people, but he's like Maximus in that he will most always be serious so we shall see.

Safe pups: Peeta, Maximus, Natasha, Felecia, Anna, Connor, Xas, Neal, Hazel, Daryl, Doug, Hazel
Pups with an end date: Matt, Rory
Reserve judgement: Charles, David
