6 Week Post-Op

Had my last follow-up appointment today with the gynecologist.  I'm off restrictions, she said everything was looking good, although I still have some internal stitches that haven't fallen out yet. I finally remembered to ask to see photos and get more info about what they found during surgery.  I can't believe the doc herself didn't tell me this stuff before.  I definitely needed to have my uterus removed before things got worse.  I had one big benign fibroid on my uterus, endometriosis primarily on my uterus (I really hope she knew what she was doing and got it all), a big pool of blood just hanging out inside my body near my uterus (freaky!), and due to their findings after examining my removed uterus, it also looked like I had adenomyosis. All this stuff probably would have progressed much further if I waited until I was 35 or 45, and the pain would just keep getting worse.  So I'm glad I got it done now.

On the unfortunate side, my digestive system is having a major freak out, and my blood sugar continues to be very unstable, and she wants me to see a GI doc.  So I'm going to try to get an appointment soon because I've really been hurting lately, and it's hard to sit through meetings when I feel like knives are stabbing my intestines.  I am again wondering if I have ulcers or Crohn's or something like that.  I've had severe stomach problems on and off for many years now, and it looks like the surgery, having altered my gut flora some temporarily, set something off again.
