Normally I really dislike the taste of yogurt, unless it's frozen yogurt, but I decided to give a few more brands a try as part of my recent diet efforts. Although the rest of the brands tried were a bust, I'm pleasantly surprised how much I like Wallaby Organic yogurt cups. It does not have that nasty sour yogurt taste that every other brand seems to have, and it's really creamy. It's on the higher end of calories that you usually see in a yogurt, but no much as to be a dealbreaker, at least for me. It's yummy enough to be a healthier dessert alternative. So I can finally eat yogurt regularly, yay.
So far the diet is not going so well, but I'll keep working hard at it. I think one of the things holding me back is that I've been increasing the amount of coffee drinks I have a day, and I need to get ones with less sugar and fat if I do that, or I end up with 1000+ calories just on coffee a day, which is insane (especially since it seems what works best for me, for reaching and staying at my desired weight, is doing about 1300 calories a day, keeping in mind that I'm short, have a really slow metabolism, and am pretty sedentary - some people need twice as many calories). I also feel a lot of stress hunger, but my stress is probably not going away soon so I need to find a way to resist stress eating when I'm not really hungry, and fighting off cravings for things I should not be eating, period, like 800 calorie pie slices, and huge plates of fettucini alfredo.
If I can go back to part-time, as I am trying to do, I should work on making at least some days where I only eat super healthy - like soup, fresh raw veggies and fruit and yogurt or cottage cheese for dessert and snacks, almonds, super dark chocolate, stuff like that. Some days it's hard not to overdo carbs, and even much more - sugar - because sometimes that's all that's available, but I can change that on some days anyway.
Maybe I should go back to doing the daily counting on sparkpeople.com, but it's so time-consuming.
