"tear me apart"
She tried to tell herself it would be alright
but she still faught herself every lonely night
momma's yelling, and her children crying
all around her people were dying
She'd wish on every star in the midnight sky
they were the only ones to ever see her cry
One had left her with a broken heart
A shattered soul, and torn apart
Two was kind but couldn't decide
as over a grave she sat and cried
he cheated her tattered and fragile heart
hidden lies now tore her apart
Three was a fuck up, and they didnt see
the reason she stayed -it couldn't be
he left her broken, battered and abused
he was the spark that lit up her fuse
Day after day, night after night
wanting to end it all by the knife
but she kept on wishing and hoping someday
he'd find her and take her far, far away
She started drinking to drown her pain
slipping further, and going insane
Someday in July she'd taken a job
(her pay had seemed much more like a rob)
She met new people and from them came
at table four, an annonumus name
A record of two nights he'd stollen her heart
but scared she'd end up still torn apart
Dispite her terror of the feeling called love
and ready to give up on things from above
She decided to give love one more chance
to show her a beautiful and happy romance
Under the stars she once had to cry,
she released her heart, and hoped it would fly
A perfect stranger now the love of her life
dust grows thicker on that old rusted knife
She gathered rosebuds deep in the wood
and picked up their petals while she could
for the flower that yesterday smiled so bright
hath withered away without its sunlight
One autumn night she'd leaned how to dance
and fallen victom to a forbiddon romance
a dull needle and silver thread
locked her dark secret within her head
She couldn't tell him what raged in her heart
for fear that one word would rip her apart
So she kept it hidden from the rest of the world
Consantly thoughts in her head would swirl
While he slept she'd lay awake
and wonder where the next step would take
Crossing the line of love and true bliss
would be an opportunity she couldn't miss
But before she could share the things in her mind
he fell in love with her this time
So in her hands she held the key to his heart
no longer afraid of falling apart
But no matter how much she loved him, she knew
one day he'd leave her for the deep ocean blue
though he'd be there with her in heart
letting him go would tear her apart.
