[Jael has been trying to desensitize herself to the elevators by going down to the luggage deck once a week and rummaging through the suitcases for interesting trinkets.
This is the first time she's gone anywhere in a couple of weeks, and she's still kind of out of it due to the pain in her arm, so she accidentally hits the button for deck 13 instead of deck 12. She doesn't notice until the doors open, though.
Jael hasn't seen this many flowers in one place in years, so as soon as the shock and awe passes, she finds herself a spot in the field not far from the elevators and just lays there.
