Notes: Passable. Often sweet, sometimes thoughtful, never tragic. Use of sentence fragments is effective for evocative narration, otherwise little or no creative risk. I have a sincere dislike for footnotes and epilogues, both of which are included here, neither of which are necessary. I'd also appreciate more cohesion and unity when it comes to plot. Pick up House on Mango Street for Cisneros' more famous novel, hopefully a better one.
