Improv Theatre--I was in the first Safari last Saturday at the Blue Door ( www.bluedoortheatre.com ), and it was awesome. Possibly the best short form show I've ever been in. Up there, anyway. This week and next I'm in the Friday showings of Eulogy, a brand new format we are collectively figuring out as we go. Long form. . . should rock several blocks.
Traditional Theatre--I'm in rehearsal for Neil Simon's Plaza Suite at Ignite (
http://ignitetheatre.org/ ), which opens Feb. 23rd. Rehearsals have went very well (except last night my opposite was ill, sigh), the cast and crew rock, etc. I am extremely excited to be doing this show with these people. I learn more every time I go in and work with them, and I'm totally getting into the whole process. I like rehearsal and even preparing for rehearsal. I'm sick. Starting later this week, I'll also be rehearsing for Will Gilman's Sonnet 23 which opens at the Blue Door Theatre on March 24th. . . both of these plays run for three weekends. I am equally excited about this play. I saw it at Civic last year, and it freakin' rocked. Fun cast, mostly BDT peeps. I don't know if it's up yet, but www.sonnet23.com has been purchased, anyway.
The rest of life: Forest is good/busy. EV is stressed/busy/mostly good. EV graduates in May with her PhD, and will be applying to teach at universities all over the place. The plan is for her to move to whatever good position she can get, and Forest and I will stay in Spokane for one more school year (until Forest is through with 6th grade). Ummm, I think that's all the major stuff.
