Theatre in London 5/18/05: Tom McCamus David Wasse and the Retreat from Moscow
By Jeff Culbert, May 18, 2005
While studying economics at Western in the early 70s, David Wasse appeared in a Players’ Guild production of Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle. Grand Artistic Director Heiner Pillar saw the show and asked him to join the Grand’s first Young Company.
....
This was a bustling time for theatre in London - David also did shows at the Clearing House on Albert Street, and sometimes worked with Ken Livingstone, the Artistic Director for Centre Theatre, in the City Centre Mall Building. The Haggis family was opening the Gallery Theatre on York Street by the river, and the next generation of the Grand’s Young Company included Tom McCamus and Stephen Ouimette.

STRATFORD -- From doing the MJ moonwalk to lying unconscious face down on the stage for an achingly long time while other actors stepped around him, Stephen Ouimette brings immensely contrasting characters to life (and near death) at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
....
Ouimette, who debuted on Broadway last October inLa Bete, planned to be a veterinarian until his last day of high school. He shocked family and friends by deciding to go to theatre school in Windsor. When he graduated, he approached the Grand about joining the young company. Pal Tom McCamus, another stalwart at Stratford and a London native, had landed a role. But Ouimette didn't get a job right away.
