Blade: The Series Blade Episode 1.10: "Hunters" (Air Date: August 30th, 2006)
Column by Troy Rogers, contributing editor
This week opens with a scene reminiscent of the horror flick Hostel. At a club, a cute young hottie is unknowingly drugged and later wakes up chained to a pole as a creepy guy in a mask stands ready to torture her.
....
We soon learn that another hottie goes missing from the bar, this time a waitress named Nicki (Katharine Horseman). Shen gets involved when Nicki's sister Bethany (Lauren Lee Smith) asks for help and that's when things really ramp up in the intensity department.

One good touch thing this week is Shen gets more than his usual cameo here -- getting enlisted by a missing hot cocktail waitress's even hotter nerdy sister, Bethany -- with whom he has good chemistry. Bethany is played by Lauren Lee Smith, (Mutant X, The L Word) and she's a welcome edition this week who I wish had had a little more screen time, what with Chase and Krista in separate states of lock-down and out of commission most of the night. Maybe she'll be back, but I doubt it.

Later, Nicki, a waitress at the club, is trying to locate Zed to settle a bar tab. She begins to snoop around the back rooms of the club and is ambushed by an unknown man. Suspecting foul play, Nicki’s sister Bethany (Lauren Lee Smith, ‘CSI’) goes to Shen for help. Upon examining a photograph of the missing girl, Shen and Blade recognise a vampire glyph on the hand of a man in the background. It is the symbol of the White Prince, a sadistic vampire serial killer who has been committing horrific acts of violence at various intervals since the 16th century. Although his face is obscured, it is clear that the tattooed man is the killer’s ‘familiar’ - a mortal that does a vampire’s bidding and procures his victims. The vampire hunters decide that the best way to flush out the Prince is to use Bethany as bait, although Shen has his reservations. “We’re using a desperate girl as a piece of cheese,” he says to Blade. Bethany and Shen go to the club to trick the familiar into taking them to the Prince. Initially thinking that Zed is the familiar, Shen is distracted and Bethany is abducted by the real perpetrator. Shen is then knocked out and taken to the Prince’s lair. Luckily, Blade has fitted the pair with tracking devices, and is not far behind them. Can Blade free the imprisoned sisters and Shen, and finally deliver justice to the White Prince and his familiar?
