Tribune Interactive have launched an official Web site for the Mutant X TV series being co-produced by Marvel Studios, Fireworks Entertainment, and Tribune Entertainment.
MutantXTV.com currently features a new description of the show, which is as follows:
"Meddling with genetic destiny has brought humanity to a moral crossroads - with dire consequences. Now there`s only one hope for a future without fear.
Secret experiments to produce `designer babies` began in the 60`s. They were initially successful in merely enhancing positive human traits for concerned parents. However, the scientists had not foreseen the long-term effects of their genetic meddling. Mutations appeared randomly as the test subjects aged. Mutations no one had counted on.
These mutants are out there, and they don`t know what`s happening to them.
Suddenly, normal lives are shattered when electricity begins shooting from fingertips; other people`s secret thoughts come bombarding into an unprepared mind; athletic ability explodes into the grace and fury of a wild animal.
And - they`re not alone. They`re being hunted. Those who created them wish to control them and their extraordinary abilities. They want the mutants back.
But somewhere out there is a sanctuary, a safehouse run by one of their own - a mutant. He wants to give these confused souls the training and direction they need to control their own destiny, and he`s putting together a group who can help them do just that. No matter who tries to stop him.
The fight starts here, and it`s full scale war by fall."
David Tischman, long-time writing partner of Head Writer Howard Chaykin and currently rumoured forerunner to be taking over the reins of Cable in September, is credited as Online Writer for the site.
According to the site, extensive casting sessions have been completed, and Tribune are currently assembling a team of designers and visual effects people for the show. Production is scheduled to start in June.

Mutant X Comes to the Web

Just under two months since the show's concept was debuted at the National Association of Television Production Executives convention in Las Vegas, Tribune Entertainment has launched the official site for 'Mutant X'.
Developed in conjunction with Marvel Comics, 'Mutant X' is seen as something of an alternate universe spin-off of 'The X-Men', despite having no formal ties with comics, tv series and burgeoning movie franchise. It centres around a group of humans who underwent genetic manipulation as infants in a secret government program with the goal of enhancing positive genetic traits such as intelligence, strength and stamina. However, the full extent of the alterations were not foreseen, and, as the subjects aged, bizarre mutations began to appear.
The ultimate results of this program can be seen in the form of Adam Zero, described as the smartest man in the world; ShadowFox - uncannily fast, inhumanly agile and completely unpredictable; Fuse, master of electricity; Rapport, who can create a psychic link with any other living thing and Synergy who can physically split himself into the Id, Ego and Superego components of his personality. Together they must work to evade those who created and now wish to control them. Please note that these names and basic information may be subject to change before the series premiere.
The site has announced the basic production staff, including four of the permanent writing staff. The head writer on the show is set to be Howard Chaykin, who has worked on 'The Flash' and 'Viper', in addition to a number of comics including 'Justice League of America: The Secret Society of Super Heroes' and 'Son of Superman'. Joining him will be Mark Lisson, who counts among his credits 'MacGyver' and 'Mighty Joe Young', David Newman (movies 'Superman I, II & III') and Elizabeth Keyishian from 'Queen of Swords'.
At present, the website is reporting that preliminary production is well underway, with the extensive casting sessions completed and the writers working on story ideas as well as scripts. They've also just this week moved into their new Toronto offices to begin setting up for production and have begun recruiting designers and visual effects people for the show. The website itself is only in the preliminary stages of operation, comprising of a page looking at the series premise, one on the production staff and a section for show news and updates.
'Mutant X' is set to debut in fall of this year on syndication. More information can be found at MutantXtv.com, the show's official site, maintained by David Tischman.

More on MUTANT X!!
Those furious at how chintzy IMDb is being with details of Marvel’s live-action syndicated hour “Mutant X” will be gratified to learn there is an embryonic “Mutant X” Website up and running.
Those who caught Coax’s earlier post on the series got a glimpse of the premise, the characters and the cast, but the series Website offers even more important stuff: who’s behind this series.
According to the site, the series’ staff writers include:
* Howard Chaykin: fiftysomething vet of the mediocre “Flash” and “Viper” series, and author of the relentlessly mediocre recent Elseworlds comic “The Secret Society of Superheroes.”
* Mark Lisson: vet of “Viper,” as well as the chillingly crappy “MacGyver,” “Hunter” and “The Scarecrow and Mrs. King.” The “Mutant X” site also lists the recent “Mighty Joe Young” remake among Lisson’s credits, but beware: IMDb indicates Lisson was credited not as a writer of this big-budget motion picture adventure, but as a co-executive producer. (The only feature writing credit IMDb gives Lisson is for 1987’s “Return to Horror High.”)
* David Newman: credited as the co-screenwriter of the first three “Superman” features. (But before you get too excited about Newman’s involvement in that superhero franchise, you might check out director Richard Donner’s comments on the audio commentary of the new “Superman: The Movie” DVD.)
* Elizabeth Keyishian: wrote an episode called “The Pact” (and perhaps others) for the syndicated adventure series “Queen of Swords.”

The site also seems to indicate that “Mutant X” emanates from Fireworks, CanWest and Tribune, the same production concerns behind “Earth: Final Conflict” and “Andromeda.”

Fans wondering where they can tune in to see the new Mutant X TV show can check out the official website (the preferred address for which is MutantX.net). The site currently lists 162 TV stations in the United States that will be carrying the show in October.
The site itself is expanding, with placeholders opened for new areas like "Mutant X Universe", "Video/Multimedia" and "Community." So far these new areas are short on content. However, the new "Behind the Scenes" area does feature a "Development Update" summarizing the filming of the first five episodes of the show.

The official Mutant X website has changed its look and posted some new goodies for the fans.
The new site has been redesigned to reflect the show's new logo and look.
They've also posted a promo video from the show, which feathers a number of shots of cool special effects, the Mutant X team in action and the evil Mason Eckhart putting on his skin! Click here to view the QuickTime video.

Has the MutantX.net website has been hacked by a conspiracy nut known as TAGC? No. Not really.
Visitors at the Mutant X site are invited to try the MX Gateway, which takes us into the world of the show. However, after entering the gateway, our uplink gets hijacked by TAGC and rerouted to his own site, hosted at GenomeCities. There, we learn TAGC is an acronym for There's A Genetic Conspiracy. The website details the genetic manipulation of the human race and the involvement of the shady Breedlove Foundation. TAGC even links to the official site for the Breedlove foundation.
It's all good fun, and reminiscent of the X-Men movie website. That site also linked to the mock website for one mutant-hating Senator Kelly. Fans of the movie will remember that Kelly's own website was also "hacked" by a mutant liberation group. Of course, Mutant X is not related to X-Men.

Fans can get another sneak peek at the Mutant X TV show by visiting MutantX.net. Last week the site unveiled another TV video promo. This new clips gives a nice intro to each of the characters and features a number of F/X, makeup and action shots. Lawsuits aside, the clip does put one in mind of the X-Men movie. Regardless, the show does look cool.
The site has also updated its list of cities that will be airing the show. Check it out for your local Mutant X outlet.

With the series premiere only a few weeks away, the official Mutant X website is buzzing with activity.
Like many folks in the entertainment industry, the producers of Mutant X are trying to do their part in providing aid for the ongoing relief efforts. To assist victims of the recent terrorist attacks in New York, Washington.D.C., and Somerset County, PA, Tribune Entertainment Company is conducting a drive to raise disaster relief funds. Contributions to the fund may be made online or by check.
Last week the site rolled out a set of new images from the first episode of the show. A few of the screen grabs show the genetically altered heroes using their super powers.
This week the site has also posted a new 30 second promo for the syndicated program.
It also expanded the "MX Gateway", a fun component of the site that takes viewers to other websites in the Mutant X world. Newly opened sites include The Midnight Press.com and GenomeX.net.
Mutant X will be released into syndication the first week of October. Check your local listings for specific dates and times. Check the MutantX.net site to see which stations are airing the show near you.

An unnamed spy has e-mailed in a link which reveals a loophole in the GenomeX website security. Following the link to http://www.genomex.net/intranet gives fans access to the evil corporation's internal e-mails. The e-mails paint a pretty clear picture about what's going on inside the mind of the evil Security Head, Mason Eckhart.
To hack in, you'll need the following:
username: pseurver-admin
password: genomex
GenomeX is, of course, the villainous organization that will appear in the Mutant X TV show. The above link is just part of the online fun, including faux websites, created by the show's producers. Check out the MutantX.net website for more links like that one.
