Mutant X - DVD Release Canceled for Mutant X - The Complete Collection: ADV's home video license is over for this and other Tribune Ent. programs

A month ago we told you how ADV Films was planning an early-October DVD release of Mutant X - The Complete Collection. The package would collect every season of the show together into one big box set. But we've learned that this release won't make it to store shelves, and that ADV Films will shortly be announcing that this release is canceled.
We have found out from an industry source that Tribune Entertainment, owner of Mutant X, has recently pulled the license from ADV Films for that program, and other Tribune-owned programs including BeastMaster, Andromeda, Farscape and the final 3 seasons of Earth: Final Conflict. Well, we're not sure if "pulled" is the right term, or if they simply decided not to renew an expired agreement. In either case, the result is the same: ADV no longer holds the home video rights to these shows, so plans to release Mutant X and BeastMasterX "complete collections" in the second half of this year had to be scrapped at the last minute.
Where will these licenses end up, and who - if anyone - will be releasing these titles in the future? We haven't found out the answers to these questions yet, but stay tuned and we'll update you if and when we do!
