Oh, Laura, oh no, to do what Topher is doing puts the active architecture in your brain. Do you really trust Adele & Topher that much!
The scene in the memorial hall broke my heart. Theoretically, becoming an active willing is neutral. But, 1) Gaeta and Narcho didn't willingly do this & 2) this is killing Hoshi. Also, Helo has to be freaked at this point.
Gaeta staring at Dee's picture was a nice touch. They meant so much to each other, it makes sense she'd be where he broke through.
I really liked that scene in the hallway, so thank you! And yeah, this whole thing is killing Hoshi. There's a line further on that just sums it up for me, and it just... ::hugs Hoshi::
And yeah, for some reason I didn't want the break throughs to be romantic. As much as I like Gaeta loving Hoshi, Dee was in his life longer. And ditto Narcho and Hoshi- it's not a romantic love, but it's a very deep love between them all the same. And Racetrack's sort of touchstone would have been Skulls, if she'd been the one to have any touches to the past.
OMG! I cannot believe you kept Topher's drawer of inappropriate starches, LOL.
"Topher also thinks he can change the color of the sky and invent time travel," Bill said gruffly. "I've never seen anyone with such a conceit in their work, except Baltar."
He is like Baltar Jr, really. Only without the smoothness. LMAO.
"Yup, it's done. You are now a living, walking medical experiment, and hopefully my greatest triumph," Topher said, slapping his hands together. "Go in peace, may the road rise to meet you, cure cancer and all that."
That's pretty much right. There was something in Dollhouse about how the brain continued to heal even without the personality, and that's sort of what's going on there.
I just love that Dee was the one thing that prompted Gaeta to react to something.
"Sir, Hoshi's a Communications Officer. Tell me you wouldn't still recognize the voice of anyone who ever called you home. And add to that the fact they're brothers-in-law…."
I also loved this little remark about recognizing the voice to call the pilots home. It's something I thought about for a while when writing Narcho and Dee in the exchange fic, contemplating their relationship prior to my story.
It had to be Dee :) I love the Louis in my head, and I love writing Gaeta/Hoshi, but Felix and Dee go back a lot further. Lovers are great, but I think Dee's really in Felix's soul in a way that Louis hasn't had time to achieve yet. (Plus, it was fun to make those deep, overcoming-all connections not romantic.)
I love the idea of the pilots having a special sort of relationship with the communications officer.

*snorfle* Your Topher voice is so good!!
"Do you believe she'd use it if she had it?" Tom asked, leaning forward.
Playa snorted. "Of course."
ME TOO, Playa.
I love that you've put in the Victor-Sierra connection *squishes them*
The Actives all on Galactica was TENSE! And then heartbreaking, when they run into Hoshi. You do enjoy torturing that poor man.

And you're right- I totally enjoy torturing Hoshi :) It's the price he gets for so much action. :)
