It made sense in my head!

There's a promo clip for the movie which has Kelly and his wife and kid, but since the kid spontaneously mutates, I don't think it's supposed to be taken as canon. Kelly wears a wedding ring, but from what Bruce has said in interviews, he may have been going with the "mutants killed my wife!" backstory. So. Meh. *hugs Nic and Beth*

I have a Scottish accent if I talk about Scotland, or talk to my parents. I change mid-sentence. It's creepy.

Haha did you do the slow down and talk slow to kill the accent thing that I attempted? If I talk fast like JP mun, no one that doesn't live in my area of the Southern US is going to understand me.

Also, I love your take on Kelly because YES he got a raw deal in the movies. You humanize him in a way the movies never really did. It's also interesting to see someone else's take on loss, having it be such a large part of who the character is.

No, I needed to talk that slowly because I had no idea what I was saying :-) But, yeah, my accent comes out if I'm angry I guess, or if I'm talking to other Scots.

It's interesting that Magneto, who is a killer and a terrorist, gets a very sympathetic backstory and ends up alive and well. Whereas Kelly, who actually makes some very good points with his arguments to the Senate, is abducted, assaulted, has his body physically altered without his consent, and dies as a result. He's the only major character to die in the film. And the X-Men treat him like shit, too. If he had gone to a regular hospital instead of somehow making it to Westchester with no shoes, money, transport, or glasses, Magneto would have succeeded. But they leave him to die alone in the dark. Meh.
